Barry Boyd is a retired Coastie, having served from 1985 - 2014. During that time, Barry began homebrewing in 2003 and discovered a love for creating delicious craft brew. After 29 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Coast Guard, Barry retired with the dream to start a brewery that was founded on community, family, and a passion for creating traditional, enjoyable beer. And so the vision for Barley Naked Brewing Co. was born. In 2017, Barry volunteered to work at Black Cap Brewery in Pennsylvania and was mentored under Greg Bentley who, to this day, has a beer named after him at Barley Naked. In October of 2018, Barry opened Barley Naked to the Stafford community and has enjoyed meeting all of his Barley Naked Friends.

Missy Boyd grew up in Pennsylvania where she met Barry in 1983 and later married in 1985. Missy currently serves at the brewery and is in charge of merchandising - although Barry will say that she is the real boss.

Gary started out sampling Barry's beers in his garage and helped realize the dream of opening up Barley Naked Brewing Co. If something needs to get done, go to Gary!

In the summer of 2019, while home from college on break, Brady found himself at Barley Naked talking with Barry who offered him a summer internship. During this internship, Brady excelled in the craft and would travel between college and the brewery over the next year to work as the Assistant Brewer. After graduating from JMU, Brady was promoted to Head Brewer of Barley Naked.

Meet Barley and Hops! If you've ever been to Barley Naked, you know that these are the hardest workers we have. Hops (the boxer) is the newest addition to our family, but Barley has been with us since before the brewery opened. By the way, Barley Naked was NOT named after Barley the dog.
